Swainsona formosa / Sturt's Desert Pea in Australian outback landscape - IMG 9396A
Sturt's Desert Pea is a leguminous ground cover plant that was named in honour of one of the country's most famous 19th century explorer and that flourishes in some of the most arid Australian outback regions. It is the floral emblem of the state of South Australia, and is one of the most iconic and readily recognised of all Australian wildflowers. This photo was taken in the Flinders Ranges region of South Australia.
