Styphelia tubiflora, Red Five Corners - IMG 9797

This low growing Australian native shrub is a member of the Ericaceae family of plants. Its beautiful tubular flowers are ultimately replaced with small fruits that have conspicuous 'ribs', and it's this feature of the plant that has given it the common name of 'Red Five Corners'. These flowers were photographed in the Watagans National Park in NSW Australia.
